Web Design – Creating an Accessible

Web Design requires a unique skill. Creating an attractive layout is one major factor – but accessibility is another key component. In order to be accessible, web design should conform to distinct accessibility principles. These principles are widely known as the “WCAG” when referring to content. Below are the following key aspects:

  • Utilize semantic markup that gives a dynamic/meaningful structure to the web page
  • This means to semantically organize the web page structure and publishing web services description accordingly so that they can be recognized by other web services on different web pages.
  • Be sure that you use proper markup language that conforms to a published DTD or Schema
  • Provide text equivalents for any non-text components (e.g. images, multimedia)
  • Use hyperlinks that make sense when read out of context. (e.g. avoid “Click Here.”)
  • Don’t use frames
  • Use CSS rather than HTML tables for layout.
  • Author the page so that when the source code is read line-by-line by user agents (such as a screen readers) it remains intelligible. (Using tables for design will often result in information that is not.

Website accessibility is also changing as it is impacted by Content Management Systems. Boca Web has a trained staff that is kept current on all changes – allowing your site to be accessible as the industry changes.

What is Web Marketing?

Internet (Web) marketing is known as the marketing of products or services over the Internet.

Over the past few years, the Internet has contributed many great benefits to marketing. One of these benefits was lowering the costs of marketing and bettering the capabilities for the distribution of information to a global audience. A good Internet Marketing Company ties together creative and technical aspects of the Internet including design, development, advertising, and sales.

Web marketing also refers to the location of media along various stages of the customer engagement cycle through search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), banner ads on specific websites, e-mail marketing, and Web 2.0 strategies.

Spiders in Palm Beach County

If you’re taking your morning walk in South Florida, you may have noticed an increase in the amount of spiders and spider webs . These pesky creatures might also find their way into your homes, businesses and yards.

What exactly is a spider?

There are approximately over 40,000 spider species recorded as of 2009. These air-breathing arthropods have eight legs and “fangs” that can inject venom depending on the species. Spiders are the largest order of arachnids and rank seventh in total species diversity among all other groups of organisms. Spiders can be found on every continent except for Antarctica.

Spider Bites:

Spiders will generally only bite a human in self defense. Most of these bites will only produce a small infection, similar to a mosquito bite or bee-sting. Spiders such as the widow spiders and other extremely harmful spiders are shy and bite only when severely threatened.  Funnel web spiders’ defensive tactics are aggressive and their venom, although they rarely inject much, has resulted in 13 known human deaths. On the other hand the Brazilian wandering spider requires very little provocation.

There were about 100 reliably reported deaths from spider bites in the 20th century, but about 1,500 from jellyfish stings. Many alleged cases of spider bites may represent incorrect diagnoses, which would make it more difficult to check the effectiveness of treatments for genuine bites.

Caring for your Horse with Fresh Pine Shavings

Owning a horse is fun – exercising and grooming. Don’t forget the “work” aspect of owning a horse – mucking it’s stable at least 3 times a day. This “chore” can be done quickly and easily so that it doesn’t even seem like a chore!  South Florida Shavings has a few great ideas to help manage your horse bedding efficiently so you have more quality time to spend with your favorite horse!

Wear Appropriate Attire

Gloves, boots and jeans can protect your skin from blisters and other hazardous chemicals.

Prepare your Area

Remove your horses and prepare the stable for a good cleaning! Remove the feed tubs, water buckets and stall toys.

Tools

Prepare your tools and wheelbarrow for cleaning time!

Begin Digging

If pine shavings or sawdust have been used, use the pine shavings fork to remove manure and wet bedding. Place the dirty manure into the wheelbarrow or cart for removal.

Manure Pile

Dump the contents of your barrow into a designated area. Be sure not to overfill the barrow! This can make it difficult to push and it might spill!

Be Sure to do a Good Job!

Be sure to remove all dirty pine shavings from your horses bedding. Check underneath to make sure that everything is dry and clean.

Even the Surface

Once you’ve cleaned and removed all of the soiled pine shavings, evenly layer the clean pine shavings over stall area. Double check all corners and areas to make sure that everything is clean and dry.  Distribute the clean pine shavings evenly.
